Doorway Series
A note from the Artist: I've been thinking about doors and the way they divide us. They keep some people in, and others out. Some doors are always open and others are locked to everyone. Rich on one side, poor on the other. Public vs private. Cold vs warm. We have so much in common and yet we spend our lives dividing into groups. As you look at these paintings, I suggest thinking about who the door belongs to. Who it was meant to exist for, and to exist against. I've specifically left out the locations of these places, pulling the doors out from their environments to help examine this concept. However these are all real doorways, real places.
